All.Can is delighted to support the first ever European Cancer Nursing Day on 18 May 2017, which was launched by the European Oncology Nursing Society (EONS) to highlight the exceptional work done by cancer nurses across Europe, and promote their role in the cancer care pathway.
Patients frequently emphasise the crucial part that specialist nurses play in their cancer journey. However, in many countries, the role of clinical specialist nurses is not formally recognised or implemented in cancer care. All countries need to provide education, training, funding and workplace support to ensure that cancer nurses are available to provide the physical, psychological and emotional care that patients need.
All.Can has launched a communication series to mark European Cancer Nursing Day:
- All.Can spotlight on cancer nursing – brief report: Cancer nursing in Europe
- All.Can spotlight on cancer nursing – interview: Georgia Papacleovoulou, Policy and Intelligence Manager at Pancreatic Cancer UK
- All.Can blog: Cancer nurses – the unsung heroes
