The European Cancer Organisation, member of All.Can International, is pleased to announce the virtual launch event of the Time To Act campaign in over 20 languages: Don’t let Covid-19 stop you from tackling Cancer. Held on Tuesday 11 May from 11:00-12:00 CEST, registration is free and can be done by clicking the “Apply for Registration” button on the Registration page of the E.C.O. website.

The event will bring together European political leaders in cancer, including EU Commissioner Stella Kyriakides and the Chair and MEPs from the EU Parliament’s Special Committee on Beating Cancer (BECA), as well as other policy-makers, healthcare professionals and patient advocates who are all very concerned about the negative impact of Covid-19 on Cancer.

The event will be led by the All.Can Board member and E.C.O. President, Matti Aapro, and Co-Chairs of E.C.O.’s Special Network on the Impact of Covid-19 on Cancer, Mirjam Crul and Mark Lawler. It will include a presentation on the latest data intelligence that has been commissioned by the European Cancer Organisation, as well as a presentation of the Time To Act resources and tools that are being launched across Europe in many languages, given the cross-border impact of both Covid-19 and Cancer and E.C.O.’s ‘7-Point Plan to Address the Urgency and Build Back Better’ launched during the European Cancer Summit last November.

The European Cancer Organisation has also been asked to present this work to the Special Committee on Beating Cancer (BECA) the previous day, on 10 May, as they have just published the summary report of its consultation exercise with stakeholders about the impact of Covid-19 on cancer care across Europe. More information about this report, and other initiatives around Covid-19 and Cancer, can be found here.
